Manufacturer honored for its significant and ongoing
contribution to the advancement of the graphic communications
industry.
Heidelberg USA, Kennesaw, Ga., is the recipient of the
2003 Industry Award from the National Association for Printing
Leadership (NAPL). The award will be presented to Heidelberg USA
President and CEO Niels M. Winther on February 22, 2003, during
NAPL's 2003 Top Management Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz.
In announcing the award, Joseph P. Truncale, NAPL President
and CEO, said, "Heidelberg's contribution to the printing and
graphic arts industries is ongoing and immeasurable. NAPL is
extremely proud to present its 2003 Industry Award to this fine
company."
Heidelberg USA was chosen to receive this year's NAPL
Industry Award in recognition of its comprehensive contribution to
the graphic communications industry. The manufacturer was honored
for developing a broad spectrum of advanced products, including
sheetfed and web offset presses, digital printing presses, prepress
units, machines for cutting, folding, and binding publications, and
high-performance copiers.
It was also cited for being a driving force behind the
integration of prepress, press, and postpress operations, and for
expanding the knowledge base of the industry through its Print
Media Academy. Heidelberg also supports industry education through
its sponsorship of several NAPL initiatives, including the
Association's Printing Economics Research Center (PERC) econometric
studies and reporting, Economic Edge newsletter and State of the
Industry Report; its flagship publication, Printing Manager
magazine; its Profit Connection website and its Center for
Professional Development learning resources.
